We are Richmond, Virginia's ONLY co-ed roller derby team and the home of VA's Renegade Rules roller derby coalition. We aim to keep roller derby co-ed, fast and fun! If you want to play roller derby in Richmond, you've come to the right place.

I'm too fat/small/tall/short/old, etc.
Derby players come in all shapes and sizes. There is a job and place for everyone on our team. The youngest players in VA are in their teens and oldest in their 50s! In fact, there is a very large popular online group for skaters over 40.
I can't skate
Minor detail! Some of our skaters never skated before joining derby. We will teach you!
I'm a guy! Roller derby is for girls.
M.A.D.E., O.S.D.A. and Renegade roller derby are co-ed rulesets. We have regular opportunities to play men-only, women-only and co-ed and play all available rulesets.
I don't want to get hurt. / Guys hit too hard.
While any contact sport carries some risk of injury, our job is to make roller derby as safe as possible. We wear full protective gear and men do not block a woman any harder than that woman can block them. In fact, our minor bruises are carried as badges of honor for a game well played!
It seems expensive.
We won't lie, buying derby related stuff can be addictive! But the truth is, necessary items won't cost you much more than a gym membership or joining any other team. Plus, you can try it out for FREE! We will provide loaner pads, helmet and rental skates at practice. All you will need is a mouthpiece.
I don't really fit in with people.
